After a broken leg and ankle ended his professional tennis career, Vic found passion in the sciences and in the sport of surfing. Earning a BS in Meteorology from Florida State University, he would then embark on a successful 25+ year career as a meteorologist and surf forecaster. Chasing both weather and surf in the first decade of his career, Vic found himself in San Diego working as the in-house meteorologist for Surfer Magazine, in Hawaii working with renowned surf forecaster Pat Caldwell, and as an on-call surf forecaster for Surfline.
As his career in meteorology progressed, Vic became a NOAA forecaster with the National Weather Service and an Incident Response Meteorologist, routinely deploying to wildfires. He also served as a Flight Meteorologist with Hurricane Hunters and an Emergency Manager with FEMA’s Hurricane Liaison Team. These high-level government roles, complete with high level security clearances, put Vic in many intense and critical situations. From flying into the eye of hurricanes, to briefing top-tier government officials in the White House, these roles required excellence on all fronts and served to deepen Vic’s passion for personal development and elite performance.
In 2020, his inner storm-chaser drew him to the snow. Establishing a home in Bend, OR near Mt. Bachelor, Vic quickly immersed himself in mountain life. Biking, rock climbing and snowboarding became daily activities and in 2023 Vic became a National Ski Patroller. This new calling to be a first responder in harsh mountain conditions not only required him to learn a whole new set of life saving skills, but also humbled him with a new respect and appreciation for first responders and those capable of and willing to risk their lives to save the lives of others.
Today, Vic dedicates his full-time to coaching elite athletes and high performance individuals. A veracious reader and student of life, Vic’s well-rounded knowledge in performance sports, neuroscience, behavioral sciences, nutrition and fitness allow him to make significant impacts in the lives of those he coaches. Whether someone is just starting out on their performance journey or already a top performer looking to get just 0.1% better, Vic’s unrelenting passion for excellence has become his purpose as he inspires, teaches and changes lives.
